Project milestone presentation guide
This page covers the presentation-style milestones in the course project.
All grading criteria are centralized in project-rubric.md.
1. Project pitch (Weeks 6-7)
Objective
Present one key existing work (paper, repo, or technical blog post) that motivates your project direction.
The pitch should identify a concrete target setting (for example: RAG systems, LLM fine-tuning, or agent tool use) and your intended direction: attack analysis, defense design, or both.
Expectations
- Content: Explain the selected source and why it matters. Clearly state how your project extends, critiques, or builds on it.
- Duration: 7 minutes (including Q&A).
2. Milestone report (Weeks 12-13)
Objective
Show concrete project progress in the execution phase.
Expectations
- Content: Present tangible work, such as:
- cleaned/constructed data statistics,
- baseline experiments,
- implemented attack/defense pipeline,
- code snippets or demo,
- or, if your plan changed, a clear pivot analysis.
- Duration: 15 minutes.
3. Poster session (Week 16)
Objective
Present your near-final project outcomes to the class.
Expectations
- Content: Motivation, method, results, and conclusion.
- Format: standard research-style poster.
- Session model: each team presents and also rotates to view others.
